Thank you to everyone who was able to come out and enjoy the YES Member Appreciation Mixer this month at the grand opening of Coastal Offices, providing private and shared office space on the Westshore.


The Young Entrepreneurs Society (YES) is just that –a society– which means that we are our members.  YES is nothing without the amazing entrepreneurs that compose our network of community conscious business owners.  It is your excitement to build your own business, to support the growth each other’s businesses and to give back to the community that drives what we do.


We can’t thank you all enough for everything that you bring to YES.  We hope that we have shown you how much we value your contributions.  Together, we are stronger and can strengthen our communities.


What a fun mixer!  We loved getting to check out the Coastal Offices‘ modern and elegant space.  The turn out was great.  It was fantastic getting to catch with all you and to hear how your businesses have been developing.  Thanks also for the delicious appies that were prepared by Coastal Offices‘ neighbour and fellow YES member, Holiday Inn Express Victoria – Colwood.  They were very tasty!

EVENT UPDATE: Please note that our next Westshore Mixer will  now take place at Turmeric Indian Cuisine on TUESDAY, JUNE 21st.  This event had been previously scheduled for Thursday, June 23rd; however, this date coincides with Diner en Blanc.  We hope that this change will help ensure that we will be able to see everybody on the 21st!  Don’t miss this awesome night food, fun, knowledge and networking.

Join us for the best golf tournament on the Island!!  Featuring surprises and prizes at every hole, a dinner and banquet, a fun casino night and support for two incredible local charities, the Quay Classic is a hole-in-one for the whole community!

All the proceeds from the Quay Classic go towards supporting the Saanich Legacy Foundation, a Quay Classic sponsor from the very beginning, and the Pacific Centre Family Services Association, who are opening a new centre in Colwood that will continue “to enhance and improve the quality and dignity of life of individuals, families and groups within the community.”

The time, money, services and expertise that you donated raised close to $13,000 of support!!  This is over twice the amount of money we raised last year!  Some of this money, $5000, will support Christina, a mother of three who is battling pancreatic cancer and the remainder is going to the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island!  Final numbers will be released soon.


Your donations will go towards helping a family struggling with illness, and ensuring that sick children on Vancouver Island and their families will have access to the best, life-saving medical equipment and technology right here!  You contributions will save and improve the lives of children in Victoria and across the island.

Dream Gala
Volunteer Organizing Team Meeting

YES friend, Rheana Watterson, is looking for volunteer support with the Help Fill a Dream Gala, which helps to fulfil the dreams of Vancouver Island children affected by life-threatening illness.

There will be a Volunteer Organizing Team Meeting on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at White Spot, Langford from 7:00- 9:00pm. This meeting will be an opportunity to get an overview of the fundraiser, brainstorm, and generate interest for the roles required leading up to, and at the event.

2016 All-Island Entrepreneurial Summit

What a terrific day with some great Island Entrepreneurs.  The speakers were brilliant, Arbutus Ridge provided a stunning venue and the group of entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals who took the time to join us brought energy, expertise and, most importantly, community!  YES is thrilled to have begun to build the relationships across the Island that will help break down the Malahat divide on the island between Victoria and Nanaimo, Duncan and Vancouver Island.
