Company Profile Specializing in Gourmet Southeast Asian Cuisine La Cocinera 999 Agnes the Cook Catering Serrvices I got the big influence and motivation at such a young age from my dad, my grandmother who owns an “EATERY” (small little restaurant), and my uncle who owns his bakery “ Gapuz Bakery” for cooking and baking. They specialize in our Philippine savoury authentic Filipino Cuisines and sumptuous Philippine bake goods. I come from a region of one of the 7, 100 islands of the Philippines “Luzon” second largest island of the Philippines, which is very rich in good flavors and spices. This is what it got me interested in cooking and baking. Moving to Canada in the early 80’s landed in Edmonton, Alberta, made me love to explore more in cooking and baking where my passion lies. I upgraded my culinary Arts skills in Edmonton, AB., then worked at the University of Alberta Hospital (Aberhart Veterans Hosp. location) in the Nutrition & Dietary Department. Since then I went on to expand my passion on cooking and baking “Catering authentic Filipino Dishes and Desert” on my own before moving to Victoria, BC., in the early 90’s. After 15 odd years being married and raising a family, I thought of getting back to my passion that I love to do, cooking and teaching Authentic Southeast Asian Cuisine.
